Hurricane the storm is forecast to become a rare Category 5 cyclone as it veers towards Jamaica, causing life-threatening flash flooding and mudslides.

Advisories are also active for areas in Haiti including the capital, Port au Prince, the adjacent nation and eastern Cuba, where this storm is anticipated to bring comparable impacts by the middle of next week.

Rock slides already being caused by the storm have caused two deaths in the country, according to emergency services.

This weather system is projected to move across Cuba by midweek before traveling via the Greater Antilles and emerging into the Atlantic.
